Men's Mental Health Awareness & Solutions Forum



Mark your calendars for November 1st, from 6 to 9 PM, as the Slave Lake and Area Mental Health Network & Rural Mental Health Network host the Men’s Mental Health Awareness & Solutions Forum, featuring a truly remarkable keynote speaker, Kristopher Marks. 


This important gathering, organized in collaboration with Alberta Health Services, the Rotary Club of Slave Lake Public Library, FCSS Slave Lake, ATCO Energy Systems, and Community Futures, focuses on raising awareness about mental health, with a special emphasis on men’s mental health.


A panel of experts and a keynote speaker will offer their perspectives and insights on addressing this issue and will navigate the challenging conversations surrounding men's mental health.



About the speaker: 



Kristopher Marks

As the Founder and CEO of VĪV Mental Health, Kris brings a unique and profound perspective to the discussion on mental health. Diagnosed with PTSD in 2014, Kris has become a vocal advocate for men’s mental health, suicide prevention, and community resource development. His lived experience and unwavering commitment to social change make him a powerful voice in the field.


Kris is also the host and producer of the VĪV Mental Health Podcast and the producer of three additional podcasts for the Alberta Cancer Foundation and Alberta Health Services. Kris also performs stand-up comedy that sheds a compassionate light on mental illness and mental health, performing at both public and private events.


Kris's keynote will offer a blend of heartfelt personal stories and actionable solutions, making it a must-attend for anyone passionate about mental health advocacy.
